Google Answers was a first of it’s kind system (for Google). It allowed individuals to post messages asking important questions like how many tyrannosaurs are in a gallon of gasoline.
The Google Blog announced a few days ago that this service will no longer be offered. This is an unfortunate event, but worse things have happened. Google is great at indexing content, moving to the field of managing what was essentially a forum with a friendly atmosphere was a difficult task to be sure and was definitely out of their normal stream of business.
This is probably a good move by Google. Many places fill the need of what Google Answers tried to fill. There is no sense in saturating a market more than it already is.
