Your site is well on the way to being the next Slashdot, or About.com.
However, there is one problem. No one visits your site. In fact, even the search engines don’t list your site very often.
This is a very common problem with new websites. One of the most important things you can do to improve the visibility of your site is get links pointing to it. One of the best ways to do this (in my experience) is to post relevant comments in blogs and forums. I know that whenever a commenter posts on my site, I check the link they have provided (as their homepage) and then usually browse their site. A lot of times, I create a more permanent link in the sidebar, or elsewhere.
Once your site has a number of links to it, search engines will value it more, and you will generate more traffic.
This is just a very tip of the iceberg in a subject called “Search Engine Optimization.” To find some good resources on the topic, check google, various “webmaster tools” websites, or any number of books on the subject.
